SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS

(Public Notice of Filing)

The Mexico School District encourages qualified persons interested in running for a position on the School Board to file to be a candidate in the April 2, 2024 election. 

Interested persons may file at Central Office located at 2101 Lakeview Road, Mexico, Missouri 65265. Please see Mrs. Bethany Collins, Secretary to the Board of Education. For additional information call 573-581-3773 ext. 2401.

Filing will begin on December 5, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and will continue on regular business days from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Filing will end on December 26, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.

The filing times for December 26, 2023 will be 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. 

Filing will not occur on days the school district’s Central Office is closed due to inclement weather or other health-related reasons. Filing will also not occur on the following holidays and breaks when the school district’s Central Office is closed: December 22, 2023 & December 25, 2023. 

The names of qualified candidates will be placed on the ballot in order of filing.

The following positions are available:     
Two positions with three-year terms.
One position with two-year term.
Candidates must select which term they will run for at the time of filing.
