SUMMER SCHOOL
Summer school will be held on June 1 -26. There is no school on Friday, June 19.

Please complete the appropriate application based on your role. Find the certified and staff info below.

Summer school serves as an extension of the district’s regular academic program, offering students opportunities for enrichment, remediation, academic credit, and exploration of new interests.
If you are interested in applying for a certified summer school position, please submit the application below by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2nd. Available positions are listed in the form. Summer School 2026: Application for Certified Positions
LOCATIONS & SITE ADMINISTRATORS:
- Grades K-2 at Hawthorne: Brett Davis
- Grades 3-5 at Eugene Field: Robin Friedrich
- Grades 6-8 at MMS: Jennifer Barnett
- Grades 9-12 at MHS: Michael Fernandez
IMPORTANT DATES:
- Staff Required WorkDay: Thursday, May 28
- Student Attendance Days: Monday June 1 - Friday, June 26
- No School Friday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.
CERTIFIED STAFF PAY INFORMATION:
All staff in a certified position will be paid a stipend based on 20 days of work, including one required staff work day and 19 days with students.
- BA Certification Stipend= $4,100
- MA Certification Stipend= $4,400
Regular school year teachers who take on a different role as support staff (e.g., transitioning to a recess aide or paraprofessional) during summer school will be paid according to the pay rate for their summer school position.
Certified staff will be paid on July 10, provided all required paperwork has been submitted.
ABSENCES:
All staff absences during summer school must be taken in full or half-day increments. Sick and personal days from the regular school year do not apply to summer school. Any absence during summer school will result in a deduction from the stipend. Summer school teachers will only receive summer school pay while attending conferences if directed by the district. Please consult with your summer school administrator before committing to any conference.

Note: Employment for summer school is contingent upon funding and student enrollment. Please be aware if either the funding is cut and/or the enrollment is low it may become necessary to close a section and your assignment could end.

*Note: Food service employees will be hired by Mrs. Fenner and do not need to complete this application.

- Application Deadline: Monday, March 2, 2026 at 5:00 PM
- Required Staff Workday: Thursday, May 28, 2026
- Student Attendance Days: Monday, June 1 - Friday, June 26, 2026
- No School in observance of Juneteenth: Thursday, June 19, 2026 (This is a paid holiday for support staff.)
- Summer School Pay dates: June 18, July 3, and July 10, 2026.
SUPPORT STAFF PAY INFORMATION:
- Regular school-year support staff who are hired for a summer school support staff position will receive their regular school-year rate of pay throughout summer school.
- Support staff and substitutes will be paid on June 18, July 3, and July 10, 2026, provided all required paperwork has been submitted.
PARAPROFESSIONAL INFORMATION:
- Paraprofessionals who apply will be hired and assigned to specific buildings and students by Mrs. Deimeke and the site administrator. The need for para positions will be determined based on the enrollment of students with IEPs who need support.
- Individual work hours may vary and will be specified in a letter of employment or determined by the Summer School Site Administrator.
SUBSTITUTE PAY INFORMATION:
- Substitutes for summer school are hired for either a half day or a full day.
- Payment for Subs with a Sub Certificate: Half day= $75; Full day= $150
- Payment for Subs with a Teaching Certificate or a Regular School-year Mexico Teacher: Half day=$100; Full day= $200
