June 2, 2025 – Parents of Mexico Public Schools students riding a bus can now view the location of their child’s bus! The district has partnered with BusRight, a transportation technology company, to allow families to keep track of their child’s school bus route to and from school directly from their smartphones.

What is BusRight? The BusRight app will allow you to, in real-time, see when the school bus is within five minutes of your child’s bus stop. The bus icon will appear when it’s within the set time window for your child’s stop. 

Can I see my student now? The BusRight app is live now! 

How do I get the app? An invitation to join the BusRight app has been sent to your parent email on file with the school. When you download the app, please choose “Sign Up” and use the email you have in your Infinite Campus parent portal. A verification code will be sent to this email for you to access your child’s information in the app. 

Having issues with the BusRight app? The district is rolling out BusRight as a trial for summer school bus routes; thank you for your patience and we appreciate your feedback as we test our system during summer school.

If you log in to the system and observe the bus appears to be offline it does not mean the bus route is not in operation; it is most likely the result of one of the following reasons:

• The bus route has completed its run and is back at the bus lot and not turned on.
• The driver is using a spare vehicle that is not equipped with BusRight's GPS tracking system.
• The GPS Tracking system on the vehicle is not online due to technical issues.
• If the route does not show as an option on your route list, you may not be assigned to the stop in the BusRight system - you can contact the Transportation Department at jfowler@mexico.k12.mo.us or 573-581-3773 ext 7422.
