Butts named MAPT Bus Driver of the Year

July 9, 2025 – Donna Butts, a dedicated member of the Mexico Public Schools transportation team, has been named the 2025 Missouri Association for Pupil Transportation (MAPT) Bus Driver of the Year.
The honor was announced during the 60th Annual MAPT Conference and Trade Show in St. Charles, where Donna was celebrated in front of her peers and joined by several co-workers from Hart Career Center.
Butts was nominated by Jennifer Fowler, Director of Transportation, who highlighted her outstanding commitment to student safety, positive relationships with students and families, and years of dependable service behind the wheel. To be considered for the statewide award, nominees must have at least five years of experience in pupil transportation, a clean driving record, and a reputation for going above and beyond in their role.
Superintendent Dr. Troy Lentz shared his admiration for her work ethic and impact, “Donna is an ace. She is definitely worthy of the honor, and we are fortunate to have her on our team.”
In addition to her transportation role, Donna serves as a health services instructor at Hart Career Center, where she continues to make a difference in the lives of students both inside and outside the classroom.
We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and deeply appreciate Donna’s continued service and commitment to excellence!
