To ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff, Mexico 59 will not be in session beginning Friday, March 20 through Monday, April 13, 2020. All school activities, including athletic and extracurricular practices and competitions, will be cancelled during this time.

MEAL SERVICE for school closure

We understand that some of our families rely on the availability of school meals for proper nourishment. As part of our emergency plan to address the closure of schools, we will provide a cold lunch with breakfast for the following day. This food is being prepared by our highly trained Food Services staff in the school kitchens. 

Children in attendance that are 18 and under will be allowed to receive meals. The child must be present. The curbside meals will be available beginning on Wednesday, March 25. Please sign up for a meal here. 
If you need assistance in requesting meals, please call your child's building or Central Office at 573-581-3773.

As well as curbside pickup at MHS and MMS, the Mexico YMCA will be assisting the school district by distributing meals at the following locations and times. For everyone's safety, please ask children to approach ONLY the YMCA van or a Mexico 59 vehicle. Other vehicles are not part of this USDA program.

Reminder that the child must be present to receive meals. 
As of right now, there are 6 locations for children to pick up meals through Mexico Public Schools. The sites and times of delivery may change later depending on needs in the area. Everyone will be kept posted of any changes.

Welcome to Mexico School District 59. We are located in Mexico, Missouri. We currently educate over 2,500 students in all of our locations. We have an early childhood center, three elementary schools, a middle school, high school, alternative school, and career center. The summer and fall of 2017 construction was completed at each of our school buildings. Our Superintendent is Dr. Zachary Templeton and our Assistant Superintendent is Dr. Larry Nelson.

The mission of the Mexico Public Schools is to foster in each student:
--a positive self-image,
--critical and creative thinking skills,
--responsible citizenship, a dedicated work ethic, and
--adaptability in a changing technological society
Each student will have at his or her command a specific grade level body of knowledge.
